Is your pool leaking water? Pro-Tech Pool & Spa Service has over 30 years in business and specialized equipment to find leaks. We can find leaks underground, in the liner, or as a result of faulty equipment — and we don’t resort to gimmicks or tricks. Because leaks are often hidden (or invisible) they can be tricky to find. With this type of repair, it is important to hire skilled experts to avoid unnecessary costly (and unsightly) repairs.
Is your pool loosing water? Are you sure it isn’t evaporation?
Is it evaporation?
It is not uncommon for customers to approach us about leaks only to find that the water they are losing is due to evaporation. In the “dog days” of summer, pools can lose a lot of water due to splash out and evaporation — easily 2″ or more per week. And if you are using a heater, there will be considerable evaporation during cool days and nights too (even in the spring and fall)!
To accurately determine how much water your pool is losing, mark the water line on your skimmer or in the step with a pencil and note the results in 24-72 hours. (Tip: don’t forget to write record the date and time so you don’t forget. Unless your leak is larger than 4″ per week, accuracy here is very important).
Money Saving Tip: There is an easy at home test you can do to avoid unnecessary service call fees with a bucket test. It is the first step in leak detection (and we can do it for you — but it’s a real money saver to do it on your own).
How much will it cost
The cost of a leak repair is highly variable. It may take 1-2 hours to find the leak, and then it can take a whole day or more to repair it. For this type of problem, you can get a more specific answer by contacting us.
